JoNel Lohmeyer, 78, Hays, died Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at her home in Hays.

She was born November 22, 1936 in Beatrice, Nebraska the daughter of Charles “Wes” and Margaret (Martin) Diggs. She graduated from Beatrice High School in 1954. On November 24, 1957 she married Rollin Lohmeyer in Beatrice.

She worked at a nursery, was a homemaker and Mother, worked for Gabel’s Bakery in Hays and in food service at the Hays High School Cafeteria, until her retirement. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hays and volunteered for numerous church functions and funeral dinners. She enjoyed baking, gardening, and antique cars, and her family loved her delicious cinnamon rolls. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren whom she loved caring for and spending time with.

Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Hays, three daughters; Sue Morelock of Manhattan, KS, Sara Brandt and husband Larry of Dumas, TX, and Amy Gasper and husband Troy of Victoria, KS, two brothers; Charles Diggs and wife Rachel of Glen Carbon, IL and Max Diggs and wife Norma of Omaha, a brother in law Gene “Les” White of Barnston, NE, a sister in law Ida Lohmeyer of Beatrice, NE, seven grandchildren; Megan Pfannenstiel and husband Tyler of Hays, Grace Brandt of Denton, TX, Hilary Brandt of Dumas, TX, Madalyn Morelock of Manhattan, Sam Brandt and fiancé Felisha Montez of Dumas, TX, Dalton Gasper and fiancé Laramie Broshar of Hutchinson, and Dylan Gasper of Victoria, four great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Eva White, a brother Rex Diggs, an infant daughter, and a brother in law Dewayne Lohmeyer.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 pm on Monday, November 9, 2015 at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 2703 Fort Street, Hays, KS. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in DeWitt, NE. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 pm on Sunday at the Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, 1906 Pine St. and from 12:30 until 1:30 pm on Monday at the church.

Edward “Ed” Jamison, 79, passed away Sunday, November 1, 2015, at his Quinter home with his family by his side. Ed was born Oct. 25th, 1936 in Hoxie, to Dutch and Edith (Morgan) Jamison. He graduated from Quinter High School in 1954, and then entered the Navy, where he proudly served his country for four years.

Ed spent most of his life in Quinter, farming the land he loved with his father while pursuing his passion for automobiles, racing, and car restoration. In addition, he had a great love and an immense talent for music. He played guitar and bass in numerous bands including one with his beloved wife, Kathy, who he married on June 7, 1972. His musical passion gave him great joy and was a love he passed on to his children.

Through the 1990’s and early 2000’s, Ed volunteered with Social Rehabilitative Services giving him the opportunity to assist and support children in adverse situations. This work deeply impacted him and many of the children that he helped. This devotion lived in his heart always. Prior to retirement, he returned to farming the land that he loved with neighbors he greatly respected and cared for.

Ed is survived by his wife of 43 years, Kathy Jamison; and his children: Ramona (John) Wells of Williamsburg, New Mexico, Ri Jamison of Greely, Colorado, Robb Jamison of Leander, Texas and Lesli Jamison of Denver, Colorado; and one granddaughter, Faith Jamison of Leander, Texas.

Services were held at the Church of the Brethren, in Quinter, on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at 10:00am. Cremation was chosen.

Clara Grace (Gillett) Mullender, 93, of Waldo, Kansas passed away Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at the Parkview Care Center in Osborne, Kansas.

Grace was born may 22, 1922 on the family farm near Waldo, the daughter of Fred and Violet (Tabler) Gillett. She grew up in the rural Waldo area and graduated from Waldo High School.

Grace was united in marriage to Werle C. Mullender on May 22, 1940 in Osborne. This union was blessed with three children; Vanan, Marla and Janis. They made their home on a farm north of Waldo. Werle preceded her in death on August 3, 2002.

Grace was a devoted wife and homemaker. She was always helping Werle on the farm. She also drove the school bus for Waldo – Paradise School District # 399 for many years. She was a member of the Waldo United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women. She enjoyed collecting rocks, fishing and doing crafts.

Surviving family include her son, Vanan Mullender (Brenda) of Waldo, Kansas; daughters, Marla Brumbalow and Janis Harp (Charles) all of Waldo, Kansas; 13 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers Rex Gillett and Max Gillett, and a granddaughter Collette Harp.

A Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, November 7, 2015 at the Vincent Cemetery north of Waldo. There will be no visitation. Sarah Ann (Pfannenstiel) Hearld, 37, of Wilson, Kansas passed away Monday, November 2, 2015 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas.

Sarah was born January 22, 1978 in Russell, Kansas, the daughter of Frank and Mary (Baral) Pfannenstiel. She grew up and attended schools in Russell.

Sarah was a free spirited woman with a big heart. She loved working in the medical field as a CNA for Wheatland Nursing Center in Russell, Golden Living Center in Wilson and the Rooks County Hospital in Plainville. She was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church of Russell. She enjoyed shopping, doing her nails and hair, riding motorcycles and cooking. She loved hunting, fishing, going mudding and spending time with Brenton.

Surviving family include three children, Brenton Danne Lumpkins of Russell, Kansas, Lakota Len Hearld and Chloe Laden Hearld both of Great Bend, Kansas; mother, Mary VonFeldt (Steve) of Russell, Kansas; father, Frank Pfannensteil of Bunker Hill, Kansas; brothers, Derrick Pfannenstiel (Amy) of Phoenix, Arizona, Tony Pfannenstiel (Manuela) of Bunker Hill, Kansas, Trent Pfannenstiel (Lorena) of Phoenix, Arizona and Brent Pfannenstiel of Russell, Kansas; sisters, Christine LaMar (Barry) and Amy Moresco (George) all of Russell, Kansas; half brother, Walter Andrulis (Tammy) of Great Bend, Kansas; companion D.J. Gifford Woodrow Spaugh, 100, Lenexa, formerly of Hays, died Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at Lakeview Village Care Center in Lenexa, KS.

He was born May 19, 1915 in Martinsville, IL, the son of Louis and Della (Keeran) Spaugh. Gifford came to Kansas as a young man and met his future wife, Elfrieda (Anschutz) in Wilson, Kansas. They married October 7, 1939 in Wilson. He found work in the oilfield in Kansas and worked for Texaco, Inc. for 48 years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Hays, Masonic Lodge, and Eastern Star. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and was an avid gardener.

He is survived by a sister Doris Johnson of Corona, CA, a son Roger Spaugh and partner Vicky Cronin of Carbondale, IL, a daughter Nancy Potter of Shawnee, KS, and 3 granddaughters, Renee Potter of Merriam, KS, Lisa Potter of Columbia, MO, and Debbie Potter of Seattle, WA, along with many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Rosella O’Dell, a brother Gerald Spaugh who died as a sailor in WW II, his wife of 72 years, Elfrieda (Anschutz) Spaugh, and his son-in-law Robert Lewis Potter.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 am on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at the First United Methodist Church, 305 W. 7th Street, Hays. Masonic services will follow. Graveside services will be at 2:00 pm at the Wilson City Cemetery in Wilson, KS. Visitation will be at the church from 9:30 am until service time.

William Joseph Groves, age 45, passed away at his home in rural Ness County, Kansas on November 2, 2015. He was born on October 5, 1970 in Elmira, New York the son of Clayton and Stella Stanko Groves.

He was a heavy equipment operator for Wild Bill’ Inc. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. On June 2, 2001 he married Melissa O’Bryan at Jamestown, North Dakota. She survives.

Other survivors include his sons Austin Groves, Ness City and Cody Esterbrook, Scott City, Kansas; his daughter Kae-Lawni Finnis, Clarksville, Tennessee; two brothers, Clayton Groves II and Anthony Groves; two sisters, Christna (Don) Duvall and Cheyenne Groves; and one grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Inurnment is planned at a later date in Woodhull, New York.

Juanita Irene Payne, age 92, passed away November 2, 2015 at the Ness County Hospital, Ness City, Kansas. She was born on March 14, 1923 in Rural Labette County, Kansas the daughter of Howard and Ethel Houck Billington.

She was a home economist working as a county extension agent in Crawford County for 48 years.

Amador M. Pena Jr., 63, Hays, died Sunday, November 8, 2015 at his home.

He was born November 19, 1951 in Tahoka, Texas the son of Amador M. Pena Sr. and Francisca Aguirre. On March 11, 1969, he married Marcelina “Marcy” Garcia in Indian Town, Florida.

He was a farmer and a member of New Life Center Assembly of God Church in Hays. He enjoyed fishing, WWE wrestling, gardening, and old western movies. He also loved the outdoors, pets, and animals.

Luke Duane Schemm, 17, of Sharon Springs, Kansas, died Wednesday, November 4, 2015, after collapsing at his high school football playoff game on Tuesday, November 3.

He was born December 2, 1997, in Tribune, Kansas, the son of David and Lisa (Coston) Schemm. He attended Wallace County High School and was involved in a myriad of school and community activities. Luke lived his life passionately and positively impacted the lives of everyone he knew.

Luke had many diverse passions, and excelling in sports was one. Though he was a well accomplished athlete, Luke never sought accolades for himself, but more so for his team. Anyone who played with Luke can attest to his sportsmanship and to his humility; however, his athletic success cannot be denied. Luke was a four year starter in football; WCHS Football Practice Player of the Year, freshman; All-State underclassman in football, sophomore; All-District Linebacker 1st team, sophomore; All-League Linebacker 1st team and All-League Running Back 2nd team, sophomore; Football Captain, junior; All-League 1st team Linebacker and 2nd Team Running Back, junior; All-District MVP Defensive Player of the Year, junior.

Luke was also a three year starter in basketball; All-League basketball 3rd team, sophomore; 1A State Basketball Runner-Up, sophomore; WCHS Most Improved Basketball Player, sophomore; Basketball Co-captain, junior; Top-side Tip-Off All-Tournament team, junior; All-State Basketball Tournament Team, junior; Basketball All-League 1st team, junior; 1A DII State Basketball Championship, junior; 1A DII Basketball 1st Team All-State, junior. Luke was also a three year state qualifier in high jump; 1A State Track High Jump 2nd place, freshman; 4th place, sophomore; 3rd place, junior.

Besides athletics, Luke was well-rounded in other areas. Because Luke’s classmates respected him and his ability to lead by example, Luke served as class president and student council representative from his freshman to senior year. Luke’s talents also extended to participating in band, vocal, forensics, and the school play. Academically, Luke continued to attain excellence. He was a 4.0 student, pending valedictorian of his class, and a member of the National Honor Society since his sophomore year. He was also recognized as a Student Ambassador to the People to People Ambassador Programs. Luke was a very active eleven year participant in 4-H where he served in many leadership roles including the Smoky Valley 4-H Club President, 4-H Parliamentarian, 4-H Council Member, 4-H Council Representative, and 4-H Council Treasurer. He competed in various 4-H competitive events including steers, foods, woodworking, rocketry, and small engines. Serving his community was very important to Luke. Besides many community volunteer hours, Luke was a mentor in the Big Brother/Big Sister program and attended the Hi-Plains Baptist Church in Sharon Springs.

Having been raised on his family’s farm, a strong work ethic was learned by Luke at a very early age. It was this drive and wise advice from his parents that gave him the determination to always strive to succeed and never to settle for less than his best. Always looking for the next adventure, he had many hobbies and interests including working on his race car and restoring vehicles. He had started racing two years ago and was always trying to improve his car. More importantly, he loved living life to his fullest with his brother Clay. They enjoyed everything, as long as it was together. Luke lived his life with passion and continues to be an inspiration to all that knew him.

Hays, Kansas – Donald W. Schmidt, age 66, died Saturday, November 7, 2015, at South Wind Hospice in Pratt, Kansas.

He was born September 24, 1949, in Hays, Kansas to Hilary P. and Amelia (Rome) Schmidt.

He was a 1967 graduate of St. Joseph Military School Hays, served six years in the Kansas National Guard and attended the Salina Voc Ed School. He worked 5 years at Hays Car &Truck Alignment, 5 years at James Motor Company, 12 years for the City of Hays as grounds keeper at the Fort Hays Municipal Golf Course and 19 years as a bus driver for the ACCESS Van. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the American Legion both of Hays.

Survivors include his sister, Linda Young and husband, Bob, Haviland, KS; six nephews and nieces; 11 great nephews and great nieces; 8 great great nephews and great great nieces and one great great great niece.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Betty Merklinger and her husband, Elmer.

Services are at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, November 12, 2015, at St. Joseph Catholic Church Hays, Kansas. Burial in St. Fidelis Cemetery Victoria, Kansas with military honors by the Hays American Legion and V.F.W.

Blake Allen Nickelson, age 22, passed away on Sunday, November 8, 2015 in rural Wichita County, Kansas. Blake was born February 17, 1993 in Lakin, Kansas, the son of Michael Todd & Diane Michelle (Clymer) Nickelson. A 2011 graduate of Wichita County High School where he served as class president and was a participant in football, basketball and baseball programs, he attended Kansas State University, Manhattan Area Technical Institute and was currently working in the farming industry with his father and grandfather.

Blake was a member of the United Methodist Church, Leoti Fire Department, Crosswinds Chrysalis, IM3, Pheasants Forever and he was a former Boy Scout all of Leoti, Kansas.

Carole Stark, age 77, passed away on Sunday, November 8, 2015 at her daughter’s home in Hays, Kansas. She was born on September 17, 1938 in Ness County, Kansas to Sylvester and Rosie Herman Breit. She attended her first eleven years of school in Utica moving with her family to Scott City in 1955 to attend Scott Community High School for her senior year.

Carole was an active part of the community and held several positions in Scott City. Her first job was as the Scott Community High School secretary. When her daughters were older she worked as the Scott City Elementary School secretary for ten years. She spent nineteen years working at the Scott City Clinic and the Scott County Hospital. After the death of her husband she served as the secretary/bookkeeper of St. Joseph Catholic Church for six years.

On February 4, 1961 she married Don Stark who preceded her in death on September 4, 2001. Carole was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Scott City. Her life was centered on family and community.

Carole was preceded in death by her parents, brother Vernon Breit; sister-in-law and husband Kathryn and Charles Duff.

Carole is survived by three daughters, Vanessa Metzger (Mark) of Lawrence, Kansas; Debra Stark of Gladstone, Missouri; Suzanne Stark of Hays, Kansas and her Grandson Morgan Metzger of Lawrence, Kansas. She is also survived by her sister and husband Donna and Les Zimmerman of Hutchinson, Kansas and sister-in-law, Molly Williams of Modoc, Kansas; many nieces and nephews, her “fourth daughter” Irene Huck and Carole’s faithful companion Mac.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Scott City, Kansas with Vigil Services starting at 7:00 p.m.

Larry Eugene Thummel left his earthly home for his heavenly home on Monday, November 2, 2015 in Hutchinson. Larry was born April 6, 1950 to Lawrence and Mildred (Huelsman) Thummel in Hoxie.

He attended Hoxie High School. Larry met the love of his life (his high school sweetheart), Marilyn Kropp, of Colby. They were united in marriage on August 31, 1968, and had 47 wonderful years together. She survives of the family home. To this union was born, two children. Larry loved and lived for these kids; they meant the world to him. Larry was a hard worker all his life. He enjoyed working in his yard, and working with his son. He also loved to spend time with his brother, Bernard, and friend, Marty.

Larry is survived by his wife; a daughter, Jennifer Thummel, and her three daughters, Brooke, Amber, and Kaylee, of WaKeeney; a son, J.D. Thummel, and his children, Cody, Trisha, and Kayla, of Quinter; two great-grandchildren, John and Janessa; four brothers, Leon and wife Carol, of Wichita , Bernard and wife Sharon, of Hoxie, Mike and wife Marylou, of Wichita, and Jon, of Hoxie; two sisters, Jane and husband John McDougal, of Colby, and Charlotte and husband Dean Wolf, of Grinnell; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Jerry. Larry will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Rest in peace, Larry. You’ve earned it!

Memorial services will be 3:00 p.m., Saturday, November 14, 2015 at Schmitt Funeral Home, Quinter.

There will be no visitation as Larry’s wishes were to be cremated.

Norma Lee (Berschauer) Cunningham passed away Sunday, November 8, 2015 at her home in WaKeeney, Kansas at the age of 79. She was born June 25, 1936 in WaKeeney to the late William and Mollie (Deines) Berschauer. She grew up in WaKeeney and graduated from Trego Community High School. She was baptized and confirmed at Bethlehem Lutheran Church where she remained a lifetime member. On December 27, 1957 Norma married Bill Cunningham in Lawton, Oklahoma. They were blessed with five children, Rick, Becky, Terry, Janet and William. On their 55th Wedding Anniversary, Norma and Bill renewed their vows in the church.

Norma worked for 42 years at the Trego County Lemke Memorial Hospital and Long Term Care, first as a Certified Nurse’s Aide and later as the Activities Director. She truly enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening along with baking and cooking family dinners. She was especially known for her amazing bierocks. She liked vacationing and traveling with her family, an occasional trip to the casino and spending time with her grandchildren.

A member of the Trego County Hospital Auxiliary and Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Norma’s greatest love were the people in her life. Whether it was family, friends, neighbors or patients, she was always more concerned about the welfare of others than of herself. Giving wasn’t just a good idea, it was how she lived every day of her life, even leaving a legacy of future giving through her death by donating her body for medical and science research.

Norma is survived by her husband Bill Cunningham of the home in WaKeeney; sons Rick Cunningham and wife Nancy of Ellis, Terry Cunningham and wife Kim of WaKeeney, and William Cunningham of Ellis; daughters Becky Oller and husband Paul of WaKeeney, and Janet Durheim and husband Steve of Ellis; brother Bill Berschauer and wife Lila of Albert; sister Merna Ellertson and husband Dave of Salina; grandchildren Jena Stunkel and husband David, Briana Towner and husband Michael, Travis Elder and wife Harlea, Sara Cunningham, Eric Cunningham, Matthew Cunningham, Jamie Durheim, Emily Hiss and husband Michael, Derek Kvasnicka, and Sierra Cunningham; great-grandchildren Odin Reif, Kyliee Towner and Lola Stunkel.

She was preceded in death by her parents William and Mollie Berschauer.

The Lord Jesus himself said, “It is more blessed to give than to receive.” We are so blessed because of all that Norma gave to each and every one of us, but now she is even more blessed as she hears the words of her Heavenly Father, “Well done, good and faithful servant. Enter into the joy of your father.”

Hays, Kansas – Lloyd J. Kisner, age 86, died Thursday, November 12, 2015, at his home.

He was born September 5,1929, in Pfeifer, Kansas to Stephen and Anna (Dome) Kisner Sr. He married Maxiline (Huser) on September 19, 1950, at Vincent, Kansas. She died December 10, 2014.

He worked 25 years at Fort Hays State University in environmental services and retired in 2012. He was a US Army veteran and a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church Hays, Kansas. He was a avid Royals fan, enjoyed gardening, and spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Survivors include three daughters, Dian Watz and husband, David, Winchester, KY; Cora Woods and husband, Tom, Bennington, KS; Bonnie Rupke and husband, Robert, Hays, KS; two brothers, Steve Kisner and wife, Jane, Pfeifer, KS; Marvin Kisner, Pfeifer, KS; three sisters, Lucille Huser-Knoll Hays, KS; Florene Kisner, Pfeifer, KS; Marline Lang-Sarver and husband, Larry, Natoma, KS; four grandchildren, Michael Kisner, Dustin Rupke (Sheila), Daisha Alderson (Matt), Nichole Peck (Josh); 11 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by parents; wife; one great grandchild, Carleah Jo; his twin brother, Floyd Kisner; one infant brother, Marion Kisner; three, brothers-in-law, Earl Huser, George Knoll and Valerian J. Lang.

Services are at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, November 14, 2015, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church Hays, Kansas. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery Hays, Kansas with military honors by the Hays V.F.W. Post 9076.

Hays, Kansas-Teresa Radena Randle, age 63, died Wednesday, November 11, 2015, at Hays Medical Center Hays, Kansas.

She was born November 13, 1951, Beaver, Oklahoma to L. R. and Fern Ola (Folmer) Wilgus.

She married David L. Randle on August 31, 1968 in Guymon, Oklahoma.

After high school she married and was a homemaker and a farmer’s wife. She lived in Hugoton for 30 years and moved to Hays in 1998. She enjoyed crafting, vacationing and her family.

Survivors include her husband, David L. Randle, of the home; four daughters, Tammie Radena Nelson, Beloit, KS; Angela Lee Heier and husband, Kevin, Valley Center, KS; Davesa Kae Cousins and husband, Donald, Shayla Dawn Randle, both of Hays, KS; one brother, Roger Wilgus and wife, Annette, Guymon, OK; nine grandchildren, Corey Parsons; Kelsey Nelson; Jessica, Brendon, Katelyn, Jacob Heier; Taya, Amedee, Cyran Randle; and one great grandson, Lane Parsons.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Phillipsburg resident Betty Ryan passed away Thursday, Nov. 12, 2015 at the Phillips County Hospital in Phillipsburg, KS at the age of 89.

She was born April 23, 1926 in York, NE, the daughter of Everett & Elsie (Walbrecht) Lich.  Betty worked as a telephone operator for a number of years.

Her husband, Francis “Frank” Ryan, preceded her in death on March 14, 2011.

Survivors include her son, James, of Stuttgart, KS; daughter, Michele Cinalli, of Olathe, KS; 7 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, Nov. 16, at 10:30 a.m. in the SS Philip & James Catholic Church, Phillipsburg, with Father Joseph Kieffer officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery, Phillipsburg.

Mrs. Ryan will lie in-state on Saturday, Nov. 14, from 5 – 9 p.m. and again Sunday, Nov. 15, from noon – 9 p.m. at the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel, Phillipsburg. The casket will remain closed.

A Rosary & Vigil service will be held Sunday evening at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Wilfred A. “Will” Sander, 85, Hays, died Friday, November 13, 2015 at the Golden Living Center in Wilson, Kansas.

He was born April 8, 1930 in Victoria, Kansas the son of Celestine and Pauline (Stang) Sander. On October 3, 1954 he married Elaine Quint in Victoria. She died October 9, 2006.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was discharged as a Sergeant 1st Class in 1953. He graduated from Victoria High School in 1949 and from Fort Hays State University with a BS degree in Business and Accounting. He was an accountant and management consultant and was the owner/operator of Cruisin Computers, Inc.  He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church, a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and enjoyed woodworking and ballroom dancing with his wife.

Survivors include a son Mark Sander of Salina, KS, four daughters; Ann Friesen and husband Jon of Colby, Kansas, Margaret Wedel of McPherson, KS, Carmelita Olson and husband Bruce of Fountain, CO, and Maria Dinkel and husband Tracy of Victoria, a brother Donnie Sander and a sister Doris Hertel, a daughter in law Pam Sander and a son in law Gary Cutsinger, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Elaine, a son Aaron Sander and a daughter Gwen Cutsinger, a son in law Wyman Wedel, three brothers; Melvin, Leland, and LaVerne Sander, and a sister Lillian Urban.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 am on Friday, November 20, 2015 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, 210 W. 13th Street, Hays.  Burial with military honors by the Hays VFW Post #9076 Honor Guard will follow in the Kansas Veterans Cemetery, WaKeeney, Kansas.  Visitation will be from 5:00 until 8:00 pm on Thursday and from 9:00 am until 9:45 Friday, all at the Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, 1906 Pine Street.  A parish vigil service and rosary will be at 7:00 pm on Thursday at the funeral home.
