Hays, Kansas – Kaylee Helen Mitchell, age 8, died Friday, November 24, 2017, at her home. She was born September 14, 2009, in Hays, Kansas to Christopher Lee Mitchell and Denissa Helen Haynes.
Kaylee was a second grader, with The STAR Classroom, at Roosevelt Elementary School and was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church both in Hays, Kansas.
She enjoyed stickers, riding horses, playing with water, watching movies, school, her family, and she had a special feel for the different textures on surfaces of items.
Survivors include her mother, Denissa Mitchell, of the home; her father, Christopher Mitchell; grandparents, Dennis and Denise (Weishaar) Haynes, Hays, KS; Marilyn Mitchell, Russell, KS; great grandmother, Wilmetta Weishaar, Abilene, KS; aunts and uncles, Danielle and Bronson Scott, Hays, KS; Clarissa and Michael Schneider, Russell, KS; Michael and Lace Mitchell, Conroe, TX; and her cousins, Claire and Carson Scott.
She was preceded in death by her great grandparents, Robert and Blanche Haynes; and James Weishaar.
Services will be at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, November 29, 2017, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 18 & Vine, Hays, Ks. A private family burial will be at a later date.
Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, at Cline’s-Keithley Mortuary of Hays, 1919 East 22nd Street, Hays, KS 67601.
