Daniel A. Guzman, 38, Hays, died Friday, August 25, 2017 at his home in Hays.
He was born May 18, 1979 in Nombre De Dios, Durango Mexico to Eduardo and Martha (Torres) Guzman. On August 30, 2008 he was united in marriage to Irene Benavidez at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Hays. He worked for Midwestern Pipeworks, Inc., making pipes for the oilfield. He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church and loved going to the lake, camping, cooking, and fishing.
Survivors include his wife; Irene Guzman of Hays, his mother; Martha Torres of Hays, three sons; Demitre Guzman of Hays, Leonardo Benavidez of Hays, and A.J. Martinez of El Dorado, KS, five daughters; Marlena Guzman, Ieesha Guzman, and Domonique Benavidez, all of Hays, Monique Singleton of Missouri, and Azariah Redding of Bushton, KS, a brother; Ronaldo Garcia of Hays, two sisters; Viviana Guzman- Maldonado and husband Hernan of Hays, and Adriana Guzman of Hays, and fourteen grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father; Eduardo Guzman, a brother; Omar Eduardo Guzman, and three grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 am on Friday, September 1, 2017 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 1805 Vine Street, with Fr. Fred Gatschet, Fr. Barry Brinkman, Fr. Leo Blasi, and Deacon Dave Kisner officiating. Cremation will follow the services and inurnment will be at a later date. Visitation will be begin at 3:00 pm on Thursday at the church and continue through the night and will be from 8:00 am until service time on Friday at the church. A parish vigil service and rosary will be at 7:00 pm on Thursday at the church. Memorials are suggested to the church in care of the Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.
