Harold Thomas Rhode Jr., 86, Goodland resident, passed away Sunday, June 25, 2017 at the Good Samaritan Center in Goodland.
Harold was born September 2, 1930 to Harold Thomas Rhode, Sr. and Dola (Johnson) in Tabor, Iowa. Harold graduated high school in Tabor, IA and graduated college at Graceland College in Lamoni, IA and Iowa State University in Ames, IA, he was an outstanding athlete in both high school and college. He held 3 master degrees in education. He was a teacher and a track coach at Billings Montana when he retired, after retirement he returned to coaching track at Absarokee, MT. He and Renee moved to Goodland in 2004.
Harold was a member of the Goodland Bible Church of Goodland, his favorite activities were teaching, coaching track, playing pinochle, gospel music, loved seeing and playing with all of his grandchildren, co-writing poems with his oldest granddaughter and teaching each grandchild how to fly fish at the cabin in Montana.
Harold is survived by his wife Renee of Goodland; and his children Debbie Alfred; Kevin Rhode; Larry Dreiling; Chris Dreiling; Kevin Dreiling; Darren Dreiling; 13 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death are his parents, his sister Marilyn, and two young children Lorie and Brett.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, July 2, 2017 at 2 p.m. MT at the Goodland Bible Church, 109 Willow Road, Goodland, KS.
