Sharon Faye Schuetz was born February 9, 1941, in Oberlin, Kansas, to Robert John Drury and Edna Faye (Peters) Rush. She passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, November 4, 2016, at the age of 75.
Sharon and her three siblings were raised on the family farm northeast of Oberlin. She attended Vallonia country school and graduated from Decatur Community High School in 1959.
On November 26, 1960, Sharon was united in marriage to Jerry V. Schuetz in Oberlin. They began married life in Oberlin then resided in Columbus, Abilene and Grainfield before returning home to Oberlin. Sharon was a very loving and devoted wife, mother of four daughters, grandmother of four grandsons, sister and friend to many. She took a lot of pride in her family and providing a good home for them while her daughters were growing up. In addition, Sharon worked for Custom Trophy and Engraving as an engraver for many years. Her grandsons held a very special place in her heart, and she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Survivors include her husband, Jerry of the home; two daughters and their husbands, Kathy and Stephen Campbell of Aurora, CO, and Lisa and Rick Johnson of Salina; a brother, Vyrl “Pete” Rush of Colorado Springs, CO; one sister and brother-in-law, Donna and Elmer Lawver of Colby; four grandsons, Joshua Campbell and Ian, Nash and Levi Johnson; nephews and nieces; other family members and friends. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Iva Marie and Janet Schuetz; and a brother, Lemoin Rush.
Vigil Service: Monday, November 7th at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home in Oberlin
Funeral Mass: Tuesday, November 8th at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oberlin with Rev. Mark Berland officiating
Burial: Oberlin Cemetery
Visitation: Monday from 8 a.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home
