Sheryl ‘Sheri’ ElVone (Feldkamp) Wiesner

Sheryl “Sheri” ElVone (Feldkamp) Wiesner passed away December 2, 2015.  She was born December 24, 1945 in Hays, Kansas, she was the second daughter of Elvon and Ruby (Reed) Feldkamp of rural Plainville.  She attended elementary school with her sister Karen at the Turkville country school in northern Ellis County before transferring to Plainville to attend the elementary and high schools there. Sheri had five children:  Kevin Fox, Karla (Fox) Weimer, Kris Fox, Karen (Fox) Knoll and Ryan Wiesner .

The family became residents of Ellis in the late 1960s. Sheri was a hard-working, dedicated homemaker who was committed to her family and community. She was a talented florist who learned the craft from working at her mother’s flower shop in Plainville.  She later operated a flower shop and a general merchandise store in Ellis.  As her children grew up and married, her home became a warm, welcoming refuge for her growing extended family, including her sister’s sons from Alabama.

She married Gregory “Greg” Wiesner of Ellis in 1975, In recent years, Sheri, a tireless worker, worked at the local flower shop and as a tour guide at the Walter P. Chrysler Home. She was a steadfast wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. She established a family tradition of celebrating the holidays and monthly birthdays in her home. Delicious dinners were always provided and Sheri always made room at her table for family and friends alike.  As a renowned humorous and witty storyteller, Sheri was a joy to those who knew her best. She will always be remembered for her good grace, kind heart, generous spirit, and infectious laugh.

Sheri was preceded in death by her parents Elvon and Ruby (Reed) Feldkamp.

She is survived by her husband, Greg, of the home; her sister Karen Voss, of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; her son and daughter-in-law Kevin and Connie Fox of Ellis, son Kris Fox of Ellis, son and daughter-in-law Ryan and Johana Wiesner of Ellis; her daughter and son-in-law Karla and Martin Weimer of Ellis; and her daughter Karen Knoll of Ellis.  She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held on Monday, December 7, 2015  at 11:00 at the Christ Lutheran Church in Ellis, Friends may call from 10:00-11:00.

The family suggests Memorials in Remembrance of Sheri to the Walter P. Chrysler Home.
